Alchemical symbols were created to denote chemical elements, various processes (reactions), elements, and other objects. They are fascinating to study, especially since many of them are used in modern days and functioning successfully

In alchemy basic metals are associated with the planets. Each planet controls a specific element. The Sun was considered a planet at that time, and Uranus, Pluto and Neptune had not yet been discovered, so these planets do not correspond to any metal.
